Bird enthusiasts, nature lovers, and tourists are eagerly waiting for the upcoming Bird Festival at Haiderpur Wetland, set to take place on March 3.

Hosted by the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board, this festival promises an unforgettable experience amidst the scenic beauty of Haiderpur Wetland, showcasing a diverse range of avian species thriving in their natural habitat.

The festival will begin at 7 am with an enthralling bird-watching expedition led by expert naturalists. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the mesmerising array of birdlife inhabiting the wetland, providing a unique insight into their ecology and behavior. Additionally, newcomers to birdwatching can partake in informative workshops aimed at enhancing their understanding of avian life.

Ahead in the day, participants can delve into the aquatic realm with a captivating dolphin boat safari on the Ganga, scheduled from 11 am to 12 pm. This rare excursion offers a glimpse into the world of these majestic creatures, adding another dimension to the festival experience.

The festival agenda also features a stimulating panel discussion titled “Conservation Challenges and Future Possibilities” in the afternoon. Experts, conservationists, and enthusiasts will convene to address pressing issues concerning avian conservation and sustainable practices, fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration.

The festivities will culminate with an expression of gratitude towards the local community and participants, marked by the distribution of mementos. This gesture symbolises a collective commitment to preserving and appreciating Uttar Pradesh’s natural heritage.

UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said on Saturday, “We are thrilled to host the Bird Festival at Haiderpur Wetland, which will provide a platform for individuals to connect with nature and promote the rich bird biodiversity and eco-tourism of Uttar Pradesh. There is huge potential in eco-tourism and adventure tourism in Uttar Pradesh for which the department and the government are committed to developing tourism facilities in these destinations.”
